Longpark Extension

The nineteen 110m turbines at Long Park - Halkburn started operation in October 2009. The application had been refused by Scottish Borders Council whose decision was typically overturned on appeal by the Holyrood-appointed reporter.

Now the developer is back for more - a further ten turbines in two groups to the NW and E of the present turbines.

In their SPG on wind energy, the Council specifically identified this site as one unsuitable for any further development. However as the extension will bring the site capacity over 50MW this is a section 36 application direct to Holyrood.
